If my husband and I are both going BR, can I witness his forms for the OR, and he witness mine?

i would have thought this was perfectly fine

A witness is just that - he signs to say that he has seen you sign the bit of paper, nothing else. He does not have to understand what the document is about.
If you don't want him to see what the document refers to, cover it up, just leaving the signature block visible.

Well I went to CAB and managed to get the signature but the experience was worse than the Court experience. I got a right jobsworth. The person looked at the form then told me he'd have to get advice from the 'money advice' person. 20 minutes later, he returns with the grim look. Jobsworth wanted id (fortunately I had my driving licence, all cards had been cut up except for cashminder card). After scrutinising the signature and checking it with the one on the licence he signed. Why would I pretend to be somebody going BR for goodness sake ?
My concern is he made a copy of my NTB1 form which I am not too happy about as it's a legal document and I'm worried about the confidentially of it all.
To conclude, I received a lecture as I went to CCCS instead of going to them as the more people they get thru their doors, the more brownie points they get.
    Never again.

    that's a big shame auldblerk...at least it's done though.

they have only kept it in case something comes back to bite them on the backside, they will have noted they saw ID etc, just covering themselves plus it's proof of what they did for you, i wouldn't worry about it

breath a big sigh of relief x

    Hi AB glad its sorted.

I guess if it took CAB 20 minutes to sort then that does`nt sound very efficient....I think they will need all the points they can get.

I think that copies of your form should not have been taken...I would question that purpose.....they should not `hold` any unecessary documents....CAB dealt with my case & after OR interview everything get returned asap to me.

On a matter of data confidentiality it is still worth mentioning that someone, who went bankrupt & was on these boards, was still the subject of identity theft even though they were BR so you are right to be vigilant.

I think I'll contact my OR about this and see what she says.

I`d call the CAB & request that any copies are returned to you or forwarded to the OR forthwith.

They have no `file` open in your name so I don`t think that taking a copy would have been needed. Maybe if immoral_angeluk see`s this she may be able to add a valid reason as she knows alot about CAB procedure;)
