Set of pedals for a racing/road bike
Anyone know where I might find a pair of alloy/alluminium pedals for a racing bike? Not looking for the toe/clip on style, just the ordinary ones for a training shoe.
Tried the local independant which are £19, does that sound reasonable? Also tried Halfords who don't have any.
Cheers

so do you mean spds? or just your bog standard flat pedal?
if spds, then you should be able to get a pair for around £20, but you could try online shops like wiggle, chain reaction or evans, but i still think they wont come in much cheaper
flat pedals, should be cheaper still

Hi mate, not sure what you mean by spds. Basically my Dad has bought a racing bike and it just needs a new set of pedals - not the type that strap your feet in, just metal ones that can be used with trainers.
Like these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/-NOS--LYOTARD-SMOOTH-SIDE-STEEL-ROAD-%2fRACING-BIKE-PEDAL_W0QQitemZ280470086101QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=&rvr_id=&cguid=2da425ee1230a0aad2c7d927fff042de
Are steel ones going to be much heavier than the alloy ones @ £19?0 -
just flat pedals then
spds clip the bottom of your shoe onto the pedal (you use special shoes that have a metal plate in the sole) . keeps your foot in the best position for biking, and cuts down on weight, so no need for a huge pedal and toe clip
as for steel over ally, unless your dads thinking of turning pro, the added weight wont make that much difference
