Clover - or something like it?
Not the most eyecatching title, I know!
I have seen a plant growing in the front yards of a few houses, and also in a churchyard nearby, which seems to cover the ground almost like a very short but dense lawn, and the only way I can describe it is that it looks like very fine clover, without any flowers that I could see. Does anyone know what this might be?
I don't think it would have been deliberately planted as it seems to grow in random places (over stones and tiles) and it might even be a weed - but not an unattractive one. I would quite like to cultivate some for my garden (which is really a yard) if that was possible, but I expect it might grow where is pleases and probably can't be bought as seed.
Thanks to anyone who might know!

Hi Scarlet, is it green like clover or is it a sort of purply/reddish colour? I had some stuff growing in my back garden like very small clover but purply/reddish and when it flowered it was absolutley tiny yellow flowers - really very pretty. I'm sorry that I don't know what it was but it was very invasive and I get rid of it everytime I see another patch of it. It could well be a weed (but an extremely attractive one!)0 -
Thanks Kimmee!
I was quite a lush green, actually (verdant, you might say) - is hasn't had flowers when I have seen it, but I suppose it might only flower at certain times of the year. It did look quite invasive, too - but in the nicest way...!0 -
My mum has this in her garden, I'm pretty sure it's called 'Mind Your Own Business'
(no I'm not joking lol) *googles real name...* 'Soleirolia soleirolii'

I have always loved this plant

Hannah - you know what, I think that's it! Good work there - thank you! I think it would be ideal for covering an otherwise bare and stony yard.
Sassy - I'm just going to have to approach the verger and ask for a closer look at his Irish Moss...
I realise I've got far too excitied about all this.0
