Data Protection for phonecalls from bank?
Comments

But if somebody phones you claiming to be from the bank and asks you for your password, would you tell them what it is? What you need to do is set up a password the bank has to give to you when they phone you so that you can be sure they are who they say they are. Also, as a precaution, set a mandatory password on your account. I have one which is 16 figures long which I get asked for every time now and I like it that way.0 -

No.
My account is set up for automated call back at "convinient time". I get the RBS server ringing to authenticate any transactions (such as me using Amazon at 1am around Christmas time).
I'm super careful as I have a few quid in my current account. If they ring me (which they don't), I ask what it is about, get a name and ring my branch back (which is 80 miles from where I live but more than always helpful).
Never work from B to A. A to B is the only way to be fully secure.0
