Hello,
I wonder if anyone can help I made a Subject Access Request on a HSBC loan which was opened over 6 years ago but was paid off within the last 6 years. They have said they do not have the original details as was over 6 years and under data protection blah blah
Does anyone know what my next option is, am I right in thinking that if the loan was still open in the last 6 years they need to keep the details?
Thanks

Hi there and welcome, if the account was still actually active in the last 6 years then normally they would hold at least something, if the account was settled by the 6 years earlier the chances of them holding any of the details are slim, but you could contact the information commissioners office (ICO) for advice on this and see what they may suggest, here:

Give them a go, and see what they say, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
