New gas fire for old back boiler

I'm just about to start doing up a house for sale that has a gas fire in the living room that is old & very ugly but has a back boiler for the heating. Can just the fire be replaced or would the boiler as well need to go? The house has been rented out so has been serviced, the last service was January so I know that it's safe & working.
Now for my really stupid girlie question, I assume that there are only certain fires suitable for use with a back boiler?

It is possible to swap fire fronts on some back boilers but it depends on how old the boiler is. Typically you will be restricted to the fire fronts made by the boiler maker - often Baxi. If the firefront and boiler are that old its likely both will have to go.

Unless you find a real mug buyer, I'd question whether the money you spend on putting a new fire front on will be recovered in terms of sale price. Anyone with any sense is going to ask about the boiler's age, and if it needs replacing, the new fire front immediately becomes worthless. A buyer may also choose to resite the boiler elsewhere if that is possible as back boilers are generally not favoured any more.
