I have just managed to get through to a real live easyjet person on this number 0870 600 0000

She was very pleasant and processed my request for a refund on my cancelled flight (and unuseable return leg) in about 5 mins. Took about 5 mins of holding before she picked up, but a WHOLE lot simpler than the stupid website system and definitely worth a go for anyone still trying!

Refunded the full amount to my mastercard, funds will clear in 5-10 days. (Nice how they leave it instantly when you pay them though eh?)

I'd actually managed to get the web form submitted but that was a week ago and still hadnt heard anything - would def recommend giving the number a try even if you've submitted the stupid form.

    Good info - thanks.

Is Easyjet like Ryanair, where the 'cheaper' 087x number are only avail Mon-Fi 9-5:30 - weekends only premium numbers available?

I've submitted the needlessly complicated web form version but I also wondered if I would have to make a separate claim for the return leg of my now cancelled journey. I'm going to investigate further and may ring the number you've kindly provided us with ☺ Hopefully I'll get my money back soon because I still want a holiday & can't afford to book one til I get my refund!! :-/

thanks greenlight77!!! (enjoyed your cynisism). The only reason we had to find alternative means to the uk was because easyjet blocked the 'free transfer' seats for the fare paying new customers. when you are at an internet cafe and trying to rebook with easyjet - it gets a tad maddening.
I'l never travel with them again - we were totally stranded - with no help for taxis or hotels etc.

My partner I had booked separately with Easyjet to return Geneva to Stansted 17th April. When we tried to reschedule the flights separately (free) and ended up with flights on different days 24th and 25th - my partner was able to rescheldule to the same flight as mine, on the 24th by paying £96 once he had done the free transfer! And our flight was almost HALF EMPTY so they were definitely blocking free transfers - disgusting. Have put in web refund form and will be writing to complain, although I cant imagine it will get very far.
To add insult to injury, some lovely person had let my car tyres down when I got back......We did actually have a lovely time while we were away though and made the most of the delay with an extra week skiing, so certainly not all bad!!

Tried to call Easyjet today to ask about progress on a refund claim made 23rd April. 10 mins on phone @10p/min while being advised to visit the website. Gave up. How to follow up a refund claim?

As I've stated in another thread about this, I would be giving the airline 4 weeks to process a refund before wasting money on a phone call as the recent ash episode has given them 1000s of refunds to process.

After 4 weeks, start to get forceful!

Yup, just that the responder did say would be processed in 'days' and since that time, no further emails like "we are busy but your request number xxxx will be processed in the next x weeks".

Easyjet have a Facebook group - and there is a resemblence of a good, live customer service thing going on there. If you're not a facebook member, now may be the time to join.

They are updating Facebook much better than the website and if you leave queries the majority of them do seem to be being answered and so it may help you in your quests for refunds/amendments, etc.

Apparently, more people have smartphones and so can access facebook rather than the easyjet website, which is why the facebook group is quite thriving. I had problems the first time around with the ashcloud and got all my issues resolved fairly quickly (well, within the day).
Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.
