Can anything go wrong now

I am stuck in paranoid mode that something is going to go t*ts up between now and tomorrow morning.
I am due to complete on a New Build purchase. Off today to get a bankers draft to hand over to my solicitor to cover the fee's etc.
Is that it now and the mortgage money will transferred to the builder tomorrow morning and I can relax or is there something that could go wrong, such as Halifax suddenly deciding that they have changed their mind.

Check with your solicitor - if he is sensible he will have already got/be getting the money from the Halifax today.RICHARD WEBSTER
As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.0 -

There could be a massive act of god in the night, wiping out the house.
You might die before you wake up.
Solicitor might be arrested at 6am for massive fraud and dragged off to the cells.
I think those are the biggest three worries.
Sleep tight.0 -

Just!!
Phone call at 9.30am from our solicitor to say that the Halifax had not sent funds due to finding an error on the mortgage application!!!!. Turns out it was their fault, so money would be sent over at 10am. 1pm........still nothing. Solicitor keeps chasing, our stuff due to arrive at 3. Nervy times. 2pm finally get a call to say money has arrived and is now on its way to the builder.
Go to the site, get the new home talk, then that finishes and our stuff arrives and then a phone call to say money now done and the keys are ours.
The stress of that morning was unreal!! but I have my home

Economy; careful management; providence. Whether you call it thrifty or frugality it all comes down to getting more for your money.0 -
