ATM dispute dragging on , need advise - NATWEST

Ill try to keep the story as brief as possible.

On the 26th March I tried to withdraw £500 from a Lloyds cash machine (next to my local natwest, didnt use natwest because that machine has eaten my card twice) the machine dispensed £120 and jammed the rest and could not retrieve it.

Walked into my branch striaght away and cashier filled out an online form for me, I have been into my branch weekly only to be told everytime that they have no infortion at all yet and I just have to wait.

Filled out a complaint last night and was emailed the procedure and told my complaint will be dealt within two weeks !

Looked at my account this morning and my account charge has taken me over my limit and so I have recieved a nice £20 charge.

Can anyone sujest a contact I can go to or how to deal with this as its the end of the month, I have two kids to feed and it looks like my charges are going to rack up, I really need this money back, should i contact Lloyds myself ?

Help greatly appriciated.

Find out which department is dealing with your complaint, call them, and whine a lot.

They are not allowed to charge fees on disputed transactions.

Well thats one thing i suppose , but still after 29 days and waiting for an initial reponse from the useless customer services at Natwest has left me somewhat financially short.

I wish i could keep them waiting and not give them a date when i have to pay their account fee next month, useless !!!!ers

  • sorry I'm confused here.

Was it not the money you took out of the account by the ATM that has caused you to go over your limit? If so you would have been liable for the charge anyway.

Or is it something that NatWest have done that has taken you over?
Wow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p

Sorry to confuse, I attempted to take out £500 for rent, didnt come so had to take out another £500, but was assured it would be back in ten days, which was 26 days ago.

An account charge has then been put on my account, thus taking me over and thus another £20.

Now been told on the phone that i could take up to 4 - 6 weeks , it seems natwest have them new fangled movable goalposts.
