    Ive been to both,

Ellesmere is twice if not three times the size of Bicester and around 10-20% cheaper for department store type goods.

Bicester is much more specialised, with lots of West End Boutiques....too pricey for me!

If you want to go to Ellesmere Port stay in Chester ~ its much much nicer imho.

I have stayed in Bicester ~ my O/H lived there when we met. I thought that Bicester was overpriced.
I live in Wirral and regularly visit Cheshire Oaks. Its worth taking a whole day out to visit. There are plenty of bargains to be had and loads of different shops. Certainly enough to keep any shopaholic busy! There are reasonable restaurants and a cinema complex too.
You can also shop in Chester which is a really nice town to wander round.

    Thanks everyone!

We're going to stay in Liverpool and then probably drive out on our last day there. Can't wait now!

Any recommendations for v nice restaurants also greatly appreciated! x
    Gone ... or have I?
  • Bicester village is vastly overated, expensive, not a wide choice of shops and not that big really. From the posts CO and EP have a lot more to choose from.
  • Ralph Lauren at Ellesmere Port seems like a good sized store if that is any indication. I cannot be sure of stock for adults but have bought some good kids stuff there. They have a upto 50% sale on right now. Also check out McArthur Glen site for vouchers for Shere Khan and Pizza Express. I do a lot of shopping at Ellesmere Port outlet and would recommend it. Chester is a lovely place to stay but my step kids would recommend Liverpool for the night life! Enjoy yourself!

Ellesmere Port is cracking - have been going for years now and rarely been disappointed. Sometimes there are countless bargains... A really good Ted Baker shop there.
  • there are loads of great places to eat, depends what you want.
there is a large chinatown full of restaurants i would reccomend ma bo it is like a scruffy cafe but the food is great, it sells beer but takr your own wine.

    Places to eat in Liverpool:
Alma de Cuba - very trendy Liverpool FC celebrated their cup win there. Food quite good but very very noisy.
Meet - Argentinan the steak is wonderful
St Petersburg - Russian good food vodka even better
Sapporo Teppanyaki-Japanese- expensive but food really good
Shere Khan - Indian -but with a twist.
I have eaten at all these and can personally recommend them

    Enjoy

I love Cheshire Oaks: I can get pretty much anything I need there: my own favourites are Karen Millen/ Whistles, Coast, Fat Face and Molton Brown, but there are so many shops I defy anyone to come home empty-handed. And there's an M&S simply food as well: bliss!
I agree with nanamags, give Sapporo Teppanyaki in L'pool a try for eating out: good fun and delicious food.

Can I throw in Freeport - It's only 15 mins from Blackpool, I always recommend my guests go and visit, they just opened an M&S, they also have a big Next, it's had a refurbishment and it's right on the marina - It's lovely! There is also a market in Fleetwood but I haven't been.
