Job Offer

My son has a 12 month AST with a six month break clause. He can give his notice in next month and officially leave the middle of June. However he has been offered a job today in Birmingham which he is very keen to take but they are insistent they need him to start on 1st May from which they won't budge. Jobs are not so easy to find so it is difficult for him to refuse. He will of course pay the full six months rent, this is not an issue, in fact he only has one further month to pay. He will of course speak to the letting agent but what is the situation with regard to leaving a tenancy early although he will pay the full six months rental required? Any comments appreciated.

my letting agreement says that i either need to give the notice (one month) or pay the rent for the length of the notice.
i think they're really just interested in getting the money, i don't think they mind if the tenant's not there anymore.. i would imagine it's even better for them, they're getting rent from the previous tenant and they can show people around/let early.0 -
I agree with dianah, cant see any problem at all.
They are still getting the rent.
They can show people round and even maybe re=let early
I wouldnt worry about it to be honest.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
