Laptop acting like I have 2 monitors?

I just tried FN + F5 which shows an icon of a laptop with a blue square around it but it doesn't seem to cycle through anything. F7 does nothing.
I am using ATI.
It's just annoying me because I have got a new graphics tablet and can't use it properly until this is fixed. It's had this problem since I got the laptop
I couldn't remember which button it was, FN+F7 normally turns wireless off and on, but I've known it to change screens too. It normally looks like a rectangle and colour rectangle on the FN keys
Can you open your ATi graphics options and go into the properties, I know there is something here for screen display but would need to see it to help out.

FN + F6 changes the screen. From just a blank screen to my screen as normal.
I can't really see where the properties actually are for the graphics card... it says I am going into properties but just shows the details of it... here is a screenshot of the display options... not much there.

Sorry I'm hopeless, no idea what I'm doing

It's OK, it may be a case of going into each of the options
I noticed at the top of that screen you have a bit which says 2. ATI 3200, is there a number 1. You'd really need to navigate into the options at the top right, or on the screen to see what you can find.
I've just looked up the ATi Catalyst control panel, if you get the options at top right do you see something like this appear? It's the display settings you need to go into....

Yes, number 1 is ATI 4500 series. I have two graphics cards in my laptop, one gets used when it is plugged in and then it switches to the other when when it isn't. To save power I guess.
This is all I have in the preferences at the top right.

I thought as much, I've seen some laptops with two graphics cards before one for normal laptop and one for high performance (computer games and videos) it auto-switches between the two
Least this explains the two desktops, it's just turning them off...
I noticed there is a profiles option, what's under there. Sorry I don't use ATi Catalyst much so this could be a screenshot and talk job. Usually profiles loads what type of settings you want (high performance, displays, etc)
Also, top left, what do you get clicking on "Graphics"?Owner of andrewhope.co.uk, hate cars and love them

You must be psychic
:T
Open up Desktops and Displays,,,, if it gives you the normal Windows one go to "Information centre"
You will need the Window open I put in my earlier screenshot, there is a desktop settings there. I'll hazard a guess there is an option in here to turn off extended desktops.Owner of andrewhope.co.uk, hate cars and love them

Man ATi don't exactly like making things easy
What do you get when you click on the arrows?
Looking at your setup loosk as if number 2 is your primary (bottom left), could be that the screens are in wrong order. What options do you get with the arrows, anything about setup of display or if extended?Owner of andrewhope.co.uk, hate cars and love them

I pressed the arrow to number 2 and disabled it. This seems to have sorted the problem
I've rebooted and it stays fixed too
When I press start key and P it says "projector only" now so I guess it still reckons my screen is a projector but at least it's just the one screen now.
Thanks you Lil!
