We have finally moved out of our rented place. I new build property with economy 7 heating. We have had 3 bills and all have what i class as very expensive.

We occsionally used the dryer about 2 twice a week, never had the heating on once as it was alway roasting in the flat.

Basically do these figures look right for a 2 bedroom, second floor flat. Are powergen shafting me somewhere.

You are on Economy7 but your bill looks like they are adding the two usage (day and night) amounts together and charging you primary and secondary rates instead of day and night rates. The actual usage seems very very high for a two bed flat, are you sure you 're not paying for the whole building?

Nah its definetly just for the flat. There is no gas in the building. How can i verify that the flat has economy 7?

If you have Economy 7 heating then there will be a Radio Teleswitch next to your meter, failing that it will be a mechanical timer.
I would recommend you record your meter readings once a week for a few weeks.
Try switching everthing off and see if the meter is still pulsing.
How is your immersion heater controlled, it may be that thats running away with the electricity.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Your meter has given two usage amounts 1420kWh and 480kWh. On E7 you would be charged 1420 units @ daytime rate and 480 units @ nighttime rate.

On your bill however, the two readings have been combined and then charged as 180 primary units and 1720 secondary units.

This suggest to me that although you have an E7 meter, your actual tarif is single meter rate. You appear to use 25% during the night, therefore you should be on E7 tarif. Call you supplier up and ask them what tarif you are on.

"never had the heating on once as it was alway roasting in the flat"

Edit: of course, that does beg the question why is it always roasting in the flat?
