Electricity Door to Door Sales

Hi - not sure if this has been mentioned before, but I am posting on behalf of my sister. Just had a call from her to say a door to door electricity sales woman just called (in Wirral) and said she was from the Martin Lewis website!! She basically went through all the bills and apparantly Eon came out cheapest, but she advised my sister not to use them but to go with N-Power. She then spent ages going on about how good N-Power was and then tried to take my sisters bank details (luckily not provided).

I'm sure Martin Lewis does not have door to door agents working for him LOL, and that she was actualy from N-power???

Anyone else had this?

I don't give door to door salespeople the time of day. If I want to buy something I'll go out looking for it myself. It's actually rather easy to say "no thank you" and shut the door, which is what we should all be doing.

would be interesting to see if she was left any paperwork with any kind of agent reference or otherwise so the pleb involved can be traced.... I'd certainly be happy to see Martin set the Lawyers on em :j

Might be a complete scammer, not actually from a utility company, just after your sister's name, address and bank account details.

Never deal with these people whoever they are or however genuine they look - never give your bank details to anyone who knocks on your door or telephones you - especially supposedly-charity-donation canvassers.

Has your sister ever heard of Martin Lewis?

If so, was she not suspicious of a door to door salesperson saying she works for Martin Lewis? As far as I am aware, Martin Lewis doesn't sell anything let alone door to door!
Whatever possessed her to start showing a complete stranger (not to mention one that is clearly setting out to deceive) personal information such as energy bills? :eek:
Good job your sister didn't start sharing banking and credit card details with her too!
