Hey,
This might sound a bit random, but does anyone know whether it's possible to open a Yahoo/Hotmail/Gmail/any-online-free-email-service and be able to access it from Microsoft Outlook? I know you can read other POP3 email services from inside Yahoo for example, I can't seem to get a straight answer on whether it's possible the other way?
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Adam

Hi adam,
Yeah this is very easy to set up, personally, I would use the newer version of outlook, called Windows Live Mail, just google it.
With hotmail, just add an account and it'll set it up for you.
With any other accounts, you'll need the relevant connection information: POP3 Server, SMTP server, Usernam, Password etc
Yahoo
Gmail
Hope this helps!

Instructions for setting up Gmail to use POP - http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=13273
You may be better off using IMAP though - http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=75725
I know Outlook has built in support for Hotmail (or at least it did many years ago when I used it), can't quite remember how you set it up though, but there's definitely an option in there.0 -
Aha! Got it set up with an old Hotmail account, thanks for your help!

Live Mail is the replacement for outlook express, outlook lives on as part of the office suite.Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0 -
For Outlook you need to download the Outlook Connector to use your Hotmail account.0
