I recently transferred £3000,in,I did it via a direct instruction to my bank online with BACS,no problem. The high street banks make mistakes ,mine paid a large chaps payment twice, and sent me massively over-drawn,I was not pleased. So lets get off The ICICI case, they pay the best interest in Town.

I transfer money to ICICI from my First Direct account all the time, takes 3-4 days, and if I need to transfer it back, takes same amount of time.

E-mails I have sent them (regarding other products they have) have been answered swiftly.

They still have not found a way to enable me to transfer money into the account. Out, yes. In, no. The only way to add funds is to send in a paper cheque, which takes around 6 weeks to be credited. Online transfers are impossible.
Erm - it is eminently possible to send money into ICICI. All you need is ICICI's sort code and your account number, and use them from your other bank. (It sounds like the DD hasn't been set up on your account properly so you cannot pull money into it from your linked account.) See http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=2523267#post2523267 for a more detailed explanation and where to get the numbers

    My personal experience:

The best internet account I've held.
Alway much faster than various UK accounts I transfer to/from.
Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc

Can you explain what you mean by this please? I manage to do transfers into ICICI all the time from my bank Smile.

Payments made via other banks simply bounce back, presumably because it is not a current account.

What happens is that when I click on the ICICI link to transfer money in, I get to a message saying I have no linked accounts and telling me to write to the Account Manager'. I do so, and I get an apology and instructions to follow the link - that link which does not work, and whose non-working was the reason I wrote. I write again and get the same email. I phone and get answerphones.

We thus go round in circles. After a few weeks I give up, and after a few months I figure, Right! Surely ICICI must have sorted this by now? All those happy MSE customers can't be wrong?...and then the whole thing starts again.

I've left £1 in there just to put them to the cost of sending statements.

Perhaps you haven't explained the problem clearly?
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

Well, they probably won't mind, since they don't send out statements.

The answer to your questions are all in the article which is linked to at the top of the page.

The only ones not there are the ratings. These apply to the whole bank as opposed to the UK subsiduary - though (from memory) its AA which is one off the very highest.

Love ya Martin but this is nonsense. Standard & Poor's rate ICICI as BB+ which is sub-investment grade (junk bond status):

Interesting - I'm now trying to work out why I remember this. Im sure one of the ratings agencies gave it a AA... will have to google later!
