British Car Auction is "Auction View" Worth it?
Options
I am looking at possibly buying a car from The British Car Auctions,
But to use the "AuctionView" facility online - it cost £10 for 40 searches, £15 for 100 ....
All I want to do is search for future car lists, and a couple of individual car searches.
Is the Auction view worth it, and beneficial, or should i just turn up to the auction and hope that there is something there???
Any help will be thanked!!!
Cheers

It seems rediculous to me that they should charge so much to tell you what they have for sale!
I personally wouldn't pay it. Especially as the £10 only lasts for 2 weeks and I would be unlikely to use 40 searches in that time, even if I was looking for a car at the moment.
Do you have a particular site or car in mind? It might be worth ringing your local auction house and asking them.
An alternative might be their dial-a-fax service (which I also think is extortionate at 60p/min) that might work out cheaper.
Anyway, best of luck.

The attraction for these searches are that it'll save lots ringing around ALL the auction centres & subsequent miles/fuel wasted on journeys.
Plus it'll maybe find the car you want at a centre you probably wouldn't have considered. Saying that, unless it is a VERY specific model, you'll usually be spoilt for choice at more or less any of the larger centres, on their fleet days.
& I'll also mention that it seems that every time I go to a sale after an already identified vehicle, I pay too much - yet if I'm just standing in the hall & something that had caught my eye, in the line up of entries, there's a good chance I'd get it at a more sensible price!!

Where abouts are you.
I use an auction house in Leeds. https://www.motorauctions.co.uk
They are very friendly to private buyers.
The website has a stock list of the more expensive cars, cheaper end isn't always listed.
They also have a section for the prices cars made last month in the auction so you can see the possible savings over dealers.
