My dispute with Npower goes on
Options
Some of you may remember I've been having a dispute with Npower since April this year, which still hasnt been resolved
Basically, Npower havent been recieving our readings for one of meters, as the meter readers didnt hold the correct serial number for the meter, so Meterplus couldnt enter the reading into the hand terminal they use(they have commented on this several times after trying to take meter readings) I have therefore been recieving estimated bills for a few years, keep ringing them up asking why they have given us estimates, they say Meter plus arent passing info on etc, been giving my readings over the 'phone and my bills have been all over the place. We have ended up owing them a lot of money, I dont dispute this, but they insist on spreading the repayments over 6 months, asking for at one point over £300
The current payment they are asking for is £227, this is meant to start on september, I am now worrying that we will be unable to stop this direct debit commencing, as I havent had a reply to the last letter I sent in july. I am sending them another letter today, posties been and no reply from them, its already to post, with a copy sent to Energywatch. The last bill they sent us, they claimed was a meter reading, the reading didnt match with the readings OH had been taking each day at the same time, one reading matched a totally different date altogether, I feel they are just plucking numbers from the air to stick on my electricity bill.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get this DD down to a reasonable level, I have explained in the letter that having been a customer of theres for 11 years, always paid bills by DD, they should trust that the bill will be settled, just a little later than they would prefer, surely they should value my custom a bit more than they seem to. Can anyone help, I really dont want to say anything against Energy watch as they have helped others in the past, but I also feel let down by them too.
