Buying Freehold

Guys
I posted the other day about a detached Coach house (flat on stilts) that is being sold leasehold the lease is 990 years remaining so along time!
The flat doesn't connect to anyone else so don't have to worry about shared freehold etc. only 2 other parking spaces under the flat which I will also buy.(they are visitor spaces so don't belong to anyone else on the estate)
I'm looking into buying the property and then buying the freehold (complete with car spaces)
Should I ask the current owner to buy the freehold (as I believe I have to live there for 2 years before I can buy it) or
should I buy the flat then the freehold (as you don't have to wait 2 years?? not sure on this)
The freehold is currently owned by MJ Gleeson PLC (anyone dealt with these guys)

Others on the estate will probably have rights to use the visitor spaces so it is unlikely you will exclusive use of them if you do buy the freehold.RICHARD WEBSTER
As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.0 -

Thats actually not a problem but I'm hoping to buy the complete freehold as not to cause problems in the future when trying to sell.....
Its a strange estate as there are only 4 of these properties (all on the same road..all leasehold..all the other properties are freehold houses.
And the amount of car parking spaces is actually quite a lot for an estate.

Probably sensible to buy it because if there are only 4 such coach houses then developer probably doesn't want the hassle of mucking around with maintenance and to be frank parking spaces don't really need a lot of maintenance so it is unlikely to be a live issue for you.RICHARD WEBSTER
