Dealing with ants in a child safe way
Every year we get ants in our back garden, both black and red. They love the edges of the lawn and have killed off some of my plants in the last year.
I have delt with them in the past with chemicals but this year my little boy is in love with the garden and at 2 years old is not safe enough to tell him not to touch and for him to remember for more than a second
I have poured boiling water on some today but most of the little beggers just ran off, so no doubt making camp further along the boarder!!
Is the any other solution or am i destined to spend the summer with a kettle in my hand?

Dry Semolina they take it to the queen she eats it swells and pops one dead queen and the workers are so confused they go elsewhere. :T Well maybe not confused but they eat it to and they cant digest it then they die.The solving of a problem lies in finding the solvers.0

If they start getting into the house, then I found Johnson's baby powder was as good a barrier as insecticide powder. I assume it's the tiny particles!import this0

The chalk lines are meant to work, we got a dodgy ant-ridden hovel whilst travelling in India...we chalked the thresholds and you could see the ants going up to the doors and turning round.0

Go to a gardening or landscaping center or ebay and buy diatomaceous earth. This is a special earth that, when viewed under a microscope, is seen to have very sharp jagged edges around each particle. If an ant tries to walk through it, their legs will be cut immediately. They hate this earth! Sprinkle a thin line of it around areas where ants are gaining access to your home: underneath window sills, doors, and cabinets. It is a great home remedy to kill ants or at least, keep them out of your home! The solving of a problem lies in finding the solvers.0
