Returnin goods sent in error -advice please?

Hello folks
I recently ordered some footwear to be delivered to my house. Instead of my order I received 3 other items, destined for other people of the same name, worth over £250. I contacted the company and they explained they had made an error and could I please send said goods back. (3 huge pairs of boots!) As they were heavy I pointed out it was not an easy task and they decided they would send a courier. We arranged a date and time, but the courier did not show. Again contacted the seller - recieved the refund for my goods originally ordered (which never arrived) and pointed out that the other items have not been collected. No word from them since - this was over 3 weeks ago. Im fed up with the stuff sitting in my house and having to chase them.
Does anyone know how long I am obliged to hold their goods before I can get rid of them? (ie sell them on!)

I think (and don't quote me on this) it's 6 months (again don't quote me on this)

Technically I don't think there is a statutory limit. The goods aren't yours, therefore any action you take which assumes ownership (such as selling them on) could be classed as theft. So I'd advise against it.

What I'd do is write a letter to the company, recorded delivery, giving them 14 days to collect the goods from you, and state that a daily storage fee will be charged past that time if they remain uncollected. Whether you can actually enforce the fee is a different matter, but there's no harm in trying :rotfl:
