Help! - How do I get Sky to resolve my issue

I wonder if anyone can help me?

I have been a Sky customer for around 8 years and 10 days ago upgraded to Sky HD. However they have a problem and didn't switch on my live pause and the record facility.

repeated calls to the 'customer services' number yeild nothing but 'we can't do anything it is up to the IT department and they will get to it sometime'.

Any ideas on how to get through to someone who is really interested in helping me or who has the power to?

Thanks in anticipation

Are you on a contract with Sky - do you have a minimum commitment or a cooling off period. From what I've read of other posters on previous boards, if you phone and ask for cancellations they tend to be rather quick to try and help!

I know when I had by Sky+ installed the engineer just phoned a number to get the hard drive functions turned on... he did leave me a number in case I ever needed to phone it again as he warned that very rarely it can be "lost". You many be able to google for the number

  • You can send an e-mail to james.murdoch@bskyb.com outlining your problem. Obviously it doesn't go directly to James Murdoch, but it goes to a high-end customer services team who have the authority to help.

If you are outside your 12 month contract phone them up and ask to cancel your contract. You will then be transferred to a care team who suddenly listen to every word you speak - it worked for me - threatening to take money away from them is the only language they speak
