Natwest Credit Card PPI- Advise needed please!

Good Afternoon,
I have a credit card with Natwest and have had for 4 years, I have had my head buried in the sand about debts until a lightbulb moment a little while ago. To cut a long story short I'm paying my credit card back in chunks now and accounting for every penny and have realise that I am paying for PPI on my credit card.
With all of the news about PPI charges and claiming back I wondered if I may be able to do so. To be honest I can't remember how I applied for the card or whether I selected an option to have PPI etc. Is there anyway I could find this out without the bank getting suspicious that i'm about to try my luck at reclaiming?
Has anyone been in the same position and had success? I've read Martins article about claiming so know how I would go about it but just want to know what options I selected before any attempt to claim!
Thank you in advance,
Emily

Hi Emily
If you believe you were mis sold then give it a go on the reclaiming the PPI, it may have been they automatically added it, or all sorts of reasons as you seen on Martin's link.
There have been much success, but if you get no joy by the final decision, you can then move on to the FOS.
Can you remember if this was sold directly in the branch or online, or maybe the phone etc?
Do you still have the agreement?
A way you "may" find out more is to request a Subject access Request (SAR), its not essential but it may help you remember some details of the sale of the policy, so its up to you if you want to request for this SAR or not, as you have to enclose £10 postal order or cheque payment for this request, and they have 40 calendar days to comply.
For more on the SAR with template and details here:

Hope this helps, but if you believe you have a case then I say go for it, good luck and ask for help anytime and please let us know how you get on, cheers.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Thank you very much for this- the subject access request sounds like a good route for me to go down. To be honest I cant remember getting the policy but believe I would have applied either online or down the telephone and then signed forms when they were posted to me. It's very bad I don't remember but I think this is partially due to it being a long time ago and mainly related to my previous ignoring of all this financial!
Unfortunately I have moved a few times and don't still have the agreement, I wish that I had kept paperwork instead of sticking it in the shredder- I am now newly reformed and keep records of everything
Thank you for your help.

Hi
Am in almost the same situation - have been rubbish with money but getting sorted now and just noticed the insurance part of my credit card. Mine is with HSBC and going to request information from them in terms of insurance and the agreement when I took it out, I was transferring to a graduate account at the time and feel it was mis-sold. Am going to use alot of the advice on here but think it's all about persevearance!0
