I wondered if anyone knew if this is possible.
I have quite bad dyslexia, and my handwriting makes me look like a stupid 10 year old, I also have bad trouble forming a sentence properly and jumping from one subject to another, with no continuity, not much grammar and diabolical spelling. Or I will finish writing something and suddenly remember a really important point, that I should have added half way through
I have two very smart children that could help me out with the form but this is private, for one thing I do not want my sons to know that I suffer from depression (for some reason I think it would be different if they were girls) also I have Chrones and Emphysema well without being too grafic, anyone that knows about Chrones will know what happens if you have a choking fit .
I am kinda embarrassed to tell anyone about this and would much rather do the forms by myself. So going somewhere like CAB is not really an option really.
As you can see, I'm not that bad with a keyboard, B and D does not get mixed up, that sort of thing.

Hi fellow Crohns sufferer..
I was told this... You can apply online, BUT (and as you can see its a big but), I was told to send off for the form as the time lapses ensure that its backdated to the day you rang them. i am also in the process of applying for Crohns and severe depression, I have had help from the Independent Benefits Advisor. You really need the right 'words' that only DLA are aware of. CAB and DIAL are also helpful. I would NOT advise filling out the forms yourself.
I have been turned down, and the guy who filled out my form is gobsmacked with the problems I have, so I am in the process of an appeal. He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.
If you really cant knit very well, then practise drumming with the needles...

Yes you can, here is the link: I am not allowed to post the link but google 'DLA online' then on the first result click that, and scroll down and there is a link to claim online. The link should be something like e-service or something in the address bar.
I would be able to post the link but I'm a newbie.

I also have Crohn's.
You can download the form here :http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/diol1/doitonline/dg_10017715m and you can fill it in on your computer and print it off when you have finished and are ready to sign it.
What you should also do is to ring up and request the form as well, that way your claim should be backdated to the date of your phone call. I stapled the date-stamped front page of the claim form to the form that I filled in on the computer.0
