Argos TV Faulty

I have an LCD DVD TV that has stopped working (the tv works ok but the DVD player doesn't)
It is within the year that Argos state it is under warranty for so can I take back for a refund or swap for a similar TV/price
or
Do i have to accept them repairing it? I don't want to have it repaired and then it break down again after the 12 months warranty and be too late to take back as this is what happened with a v expensive Samsung tv we had.

Thanks,

Yes generally you have to accept it is repaired and just because an item is outside the 12 month warranty doesn't mean it's too late to get anything done. You stil have redress under the Sale of Goods Act for up to 6 years from purchase. They'll attempt a repair if its economical to do so, however if this remedy causes you a significant inconvenience then you can request a replacement or partial refund.

    Hi

No its a Hitachi, reading the reviews since we bought it a few people have had problems with the DVD player.

We don't seem to have much luck, the first one we bought (Bush) didn't work at all so we swapped for this one and now this has gone!

Neil, its good to know about that as the expensive TV was repaired, the engineer said that Samsung were known for this problem, it then went again and we contacted the seller (Amazon) and they said 1 year warranty and that it had passed, they won't do anything!!!

I'll go into the store and see what i can do.

    Thanks,
