EQUIFAX Credit Report Don't Bother

As suggested on this site I sent Equifax £2 for a single copy of my credit report. (Providing the necessary information). They were pretty quick to cash my cheque, that was last August but provided no credit report. I wrote to them again in January 2010 (recorded delivery) asking why I was still waiting and this has also been ignored. So if you are thinking of doing this I wouldn't bother. Nick

Sorry you're having problems nj111. When I did it, I received mine within the week. This is what they say on their website.
Order a paper copy of your £2 Statutory Credit Report by writing to Equifax - This will be posted to your home address within seven working days. By law, you are entitled to a copy of your Statutory Credit Report by post for a fee of £2.

Also noted further down (link) that they do not send out a paper copy if you have paid the £2 to 'view online'. http://www.equifax.co.uk/Products/credit/statutory-report.html

Complaints http://www.equifax.com/help/q32/en_uk - I would send the letter recorded since they have so far ignored you.

August was some time ago. If they ignore your next letter/call then I would just report them to the Information Commissioner’s Office http://www.ico.gov.uk/for_the_public/topic_specific_guides/credit.aspx

Hope it works out for you.

Thanks for you advice will write to their customer relations as suggested and see what happens. Costs more in recorded delivery letters than the fee.

I had the same problem with equifax i sent my a postal roder and a request in august 2009. I am still waiting for my report to arrive. they are asking documents to which i do not possess such as a UK passport, Uk driving licence ( I do not drive) but I am from abroad!
so i sent my national ID card ( i am from the Eu and this is sufficient to enter Britain ) along with 3 bill and council tax bill in my name to prove my ID and that was refused as they were not sastified of my ID and they do not recognise ID card ..... .
their reply we need a UK passport or UK birth certificate ..... really bad customer service !

I am having the same problem with them. They take the money but don't respond when they do not deliver!
