Yeah thanks Elfen. She's another one who had breast cancer many years ago,and thought it was gone. She has had a "frozen shoulder" for months, and I have ferried her to various appts....turns out,it's bone cancer and has already spread too far..I can't believe she won't she Xmas. She has a 15 year old son,and a 2 year old grand daughter..Debt-free...and staying that way...0

Oh SRM that's awful, I hope she can make the most of the time she has left with her loved ones.
Bunny, shame about the sailers, but good about the cats.
Well, I've had a fantastic day. Done some shopping, had a gorgeous meal at La Tasca (using the 50% off voucher), picked up the techy bits I'd ordered so I can make sure everything I write now is totally backed up, then got home to the post, and my Disabled Students Allowance has been approved. Not only lots of nice equipment to make it easier, but full training in the software, and best of all 30 weekly sessions with a mental health specialist to make sure I can plan my work and stuff properly. Chuffed is an understatement! Also got what I thought was a debt letter but turned out to be telling me my smear was normal, so that's good too.
IAnd the lib dem candidate has replied to my email, a bit waffly and not quite answering the question head on, but at least he's made the effort, still waiting for the others. also used the Millies cookie voucher and have 24 of them to munch while watching films for the next few nights.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
SRM - I'm really to sorry to hear about your friend. Sending lots of love/posititve vibes your way.
Bunny, that's good that you're not going to be stranded. :j
Ames - glad you had a lovely day.:beer:
Claire - I'm sure it will turn up soon.
Elfen - :j:j about your smile! Reminds me, I need to see a dentist. I grind my teeth when I'm asleep and the back ones have started to fall apart!
I'm seriously lacking in motivation at the moment. But on a positive note, I'm going to be having some training on a system that I've been asked to look after, so it's a day trip to Brum shortly!

Hi all,
Sorry to hear about your friend SRM. Cancer is a crap disease to have. I think just see her a lot, support her and allow her to be herself - angry, positive, sad...whatever she needs to be. The timescales are not definitive so I think its important to aim for quality of time and managing things the way the person wants them managed.
I haven't done any gardening!!! Am now going to look at jobs - am far too relaxed at the moment.
Took my foot cupboard thing back to Ikea where they spent half an hour trying to prove it could be put together, before they gave up and gave me a refund! I was so hungry I was almost on my second hotdog (45p!) Went and got the plastic 'non-assembly' model for £9! Not very gorgeous but at least I know it works.
Going to Poundland on Friday to look at their gardening stuff. If anyone likes camping Netto are having a major splurge - camping stool £2, inflatable single mattress £6, so may also look in there.
