I probably know the answer, but wanted a second opinion.
I am currently getting some LHA benefit.
I was about to transfer my high interest overdraft to a 0% card (it's one where the money goes straight into your bank account).
When the council check my bank statements, they will see £1,800 going in (It will still leave a small overdraft). I expect them to ask what it is, and I can provide the card statement, showing the balance going from zero to minus £1,800).
Even though I have just transferred debt, will it be ignored, or taken as £1,800 towards an income.
I expect it will be ignored - what do you guys think !!!

As long as you can provide evidence to show where the money came from, I would disregard it as an assessor myselfI currently manage a Housing Benefit service and have been working in Housing / council tax benefit (as was) since 2001.
