I won but need advice please!

I was really excited to see that I had won a £500 very.co.uk voucher and £500 cash in a SUN competition. I saw my name in the paper, and it is now on the list of Sun winners. It says that the prize can take up to 28 days to arrive but it is now 32 days since I saw it in the paper. I emailed them at the address they mention on the Winners page but I just received an automated reply which said it had gone to the "right" department but that they get so many emails I might not get a reply!!
Has anyone else any experience of SUN prizes and can set my mind at rest please. Feeling a bit let down after such a high of winning a fab prize.:(

I've had a win from the Sun last year I got a telephone call to inform me and a follow up email and good were delivered within 28 days. I seem to remember a recent post from another member who had a win and that was a phone call too. Do you have a very unusal name ? I'll check my emails to see if I have any contact details but it was about a year ago.

Thanks to both. I haven't had a phone call but it is definitely me in the paper and online. Maybe I'm just too impatient :o

Personally, I'd give them a little while longer - especially as some workforces are down on staff where people have got stuck overseas. Their admin team might be caught up with sorting out people's transportation or whatever... or do they use outside companies for comps? Either way, I'd maybe wait another week, then phone.

If they've not called or emailed you to verify, are you 100% sure it's you who's won? I know some people have very unusual names, but have you googled or facebooked yourself to see if there are others with your name?

Well done on your win though! :D

  • Well done on your win.

It might be that it takes 28 working days to come through. Sometimes they have to organise things with the PR companies etc who have sponsored the competition so it takes a while to come through.

Good luck and I hope you get your prize soon. xx
Wins so far: Cinema tickets, bottle of volt, benefit lip gloss, Samsung TV, Two night Scottish break! :j

That's a good point... have you counted 32 working days, or just 32 days? People do usually mean working days. Don't forget there were bank hols over Easter which would've slowed it down another two days.

Thanks for all the help and comments - korky - I did email but just got the "thanks for your email, it might not get a reply". BUT hazy and jack you are right I counted 32 days not working days. I'll give it a bit longer. ALso hazy I did check the electoral roll to see if there was another me in my town so I am fairly sure. I do appreciate all your support and will update when I can - thanks again.
