Hi
I remember i had PPI on some old loans i had many years ago and credit cards. But i dont have account details for this, i seem to remember i had a barclay card and an egg card, and a few loans aswell, however i cannot for the life of me remember who i had the loan with.
Does anoyone have any advice on where to start, and also how to find out whether i had PPI on the credit cards older ones that accounts have now expired
Many thanks
PM me if needed

Hi there
Maybe in your case as you have a few, is to request a Subject Access Request (SAR), if all the accounts are with the same bank then one SAR will do.
There is a template letter for this here:

If the loans and credit cards were taken out with your own bank, then you write your bank account number on the SAR letter, they then should send all they hold on you by 40 days.
However, there is a cost of £10 postal order or cheque payment for this request.
Post by recorded delivery as well for your proof of posting.
Another way is to request copies of your agreements which should show the PPI details, if the accounts are still active then they should still have copies of these, so for this request, just write a simple letter, enclose a £1 postal order or cheque payment, and request they send by 12 days.
If you cannot remember your account numbers to request the agreements, then give them as many details as possible, full name, all addresses you lived in whilst taking out credit with them, Date of birth and so on, this will make it easier for them to track down.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

sorry to sound thick, but when you say bank account, do you mean send it to the bank where the loans were coming out of, ie the monthly direct debit etc.
Still not sure if i had PPI on them or not, but do i write to them to find out, or how will i find this out???0 -

Hi there, no that is fine, its best to know.:D;)
If they were taken out with your bank then yes the account number for your bank for a SAR will be fine, as they should send all you have with them.;)
However, you could try just giving them a ring and they should be able to tell you, or even call into your local branch. This would save you some money then. The one and only "Dizzy Di"
