Possible 2nd Bankruptcy

Evening all,
I was declared Bankrupt in March 1997 and discharged three years later through business debts.
Long story but in a nutshell if i were to declare myself again 13 years later what would the consiquences be?Would i get a discharge after a decent amount of time or would they basically finish me?
Can i just point out i am not a serial bankrupt its just the way things have turned out.
Help appreciated.

Mick Have you spoken to the debt charities?
Dont think it will effect you to much however your OR might look more closely into your affairs

Hi Mick, definitely speak to the debt charities if you have not done so already. 13 years is quite a while ago and if it was a business BR then it is different from a personal BR. but like Curly said, they may just ask more indepth questions a little. Hope that you have had some professional advice or are getting some.

No i have not sought any advice at all as i have been of the mindset that i would never go through it again but im trying to sort things out but i seem to be being hounded far more this time.The last straw is that this morning a neighbour called in and said she had recieved a phone call from a DC asking about ME!
I am now thinking....**** the lot of them.

I went BR in November I got pushed over in my house by a door to door loan person and that was the final straw
So I know how you are feeling
speak to the charities there is number in a sticky on the front page

Hi Mick, also threaten this DC agency with being reported for a breach of the data protection act, they have to no right to tell your neighbours why they are looking to contact you and should not be approaching your neighbours at all! it comes under the law that they (dca's) are not allowed to publicly embarass you as regards any monies you owe so they could get in big trouble for it.

best advice I can give which is what i did, change your phone number & make sure it is ex directory and that only people you absolutely trust have your number. that way you will at least get peace from harassing calls while you try and sort things out.

Would have no bearing on any new bankruptcy.

I perhaps misled (not purposely) when i said it was business debt 13 years ago --it was through a business but i was a sole trader so i did go personally bankrupt,it was not a limited company or anything.
Any more help greatly appreciated.

these things happen,
1 get a brew, or a pint
2, make a list of all your debts, and income and expenditure
3 speak to a debt charity
4 if poss change your phone number - stop the calls

if anyone turns up at your house do what I used to do, wave at them through the window

remember we have all done this and we can help you get through this
