I should have stuck with Interflora!!

I wanted to send my husband some congrats flowers today while he was at work.
When I went on Interflora I saw it was £12.99 delivery for express (within 3hours) which I wasnt really prepared to spend.
So looked up Flowers direct on Quidco.. wish I hadnt bothered!!
Alhough their same day delivery is not express, they do say if you need flowers delivered by a set time they will try and the price was less than half of Interflora.
I proceeded with the order and provided all the requested details including my name and contact number. I then filled in the requirements box and clearly stated important delivery instructions that would be needed to gain access to his work. i also provided his number and asked that they just called and said that their was a delivery waiting at reception if it was too busy for them to wait.
Several hours later I got a phone call from my hubby jokingly asked what i had been up to... I was chuffed and said I hoped he liked the flowers and rather special message on the card :-)
It turned out he had not received any flowers but instead a phone call from the selected florist saying "hi is this *** police station".... when would you ever call a mobile number and ask that?????????
She then went on to say sorry they cant deliver his flowers till 7. My husband pointed out that perhaps they shouldnt have called him but the purchaser... she then said sorry and that there had been a mix up and asked my husband NOT to tell me they had called??
He said he didnt feel happy about it and that if they had not prepared the flowers already to not do so as he was sure I would be unhappy at the suprise being ruined.
He called me and I was gutted, a nice gesture, suprise had been completely ruined.
Anyway to cut it a little shorter Flowers Direct were rather indifferent and said sorry it shouldnt have happened and that it wasnt the florists fault as they had not received the requirements.. well its not my fault either??after some pushing they refunded me..
Am I being ungrateful, but is that it? An oh sorry and refund.... not even an offer to still send the flowers and waiver the delivery charge or offer to find another local florist as a good will gesture.
Anyway have learnt my lesson and would rather pay Interfloras higher price and receive better servic

Wow that is really poor service, sorry your nice surprise was spoiled.
I can recommend iFlorist (on Quidco) for future flower deliveries, I have used them a few time and they have always come up trumps.0 -
absolutely terrible service there, sounds like they are too stupid to even work their own system, if I were you, I would look for a review site and a state what you have done here hopefully these clowns will either sort themselves out or go bust.
I wouldn't hold your breath about getting anything out of them, companies would rather lose a customer/customers than give anything away these days.0 -
yes i agree stuart.. its such a shame though as these special times only come round once at the moment has been ruined :-((0

You could try Charity Flowers next time. We use them a lot and the service and flowers are really good. Unfortunately they are not on quidco (AFAIK).
