I've just renewed mine and I'm pretty sure theres a section on the renewal form for people who have lost the previous one.

If you can't find the info on the website, and no-one on here knows, go along to your Post Office (the big ones that do the forms and the checking). The staff are very good (at mine at least) - they'll know what you need to do.

  • Thankyou both for your replies,

i did find the section on the renewal form to say you have lost it but it says in the notes that the new one will have to be in the same name as the old one

Find out with the travel people if old name passport and marriage certificate will be sufficient...

It's been four years and I still haven't changed mine... it hasn't expired yet!
    :wall:
  • neither has mine but its only got less than a 13 months left and we fly in October to florida and the travel agent said as its less than 6 months to the holiday they will hav to chrage us £65 for change of name where a new passport is only £10 more
  • When I married in 2000 I didn't change the name on my passport - I divorced in 2006 and ended up renewing my passport in my old maiden name in 2009 because it was expiring - although I haven't reverted to my maiden name they wanted a marriage cert to renew in my married name and I hadn't kept it due to the divorce.

So I would say just to renew in your maiden name - but your tickets are in your married name which complicates matters.:o

To be honest I would give them a call and see what they suggest :)
