There is no point in them doing a credit check on you if you know you are going to fail it. Do you have someone who is in full time employment with a good credit rating who will act as your guarantor? Or can you afford to offer 6 months rent in advance? You need to be up front with the agent/LL about your circumstances.0

thanks for that . 6 months rent would be around £3600 and i dont have that kind of money. As for the credit check i see adverts for free credit checks from experien do these not count0

Presumably the property you are trying to rent is being let via a Letting Agent? The best bet is to find a LL who self-manages his/her property - the local Council may have a list of private LLs who have accreditation with them or you could try contacting your local LL association for contact info. Most LLs who self-manage tend to pass on only the actual costs of the credit checks they would undertake , but as they use the same firms as an LA would - Homelet, TenantVerify etc - the result will be the same.
Have you checked your own rating with Experian, CallCredit and Equifax? Have you read upon MSE martin's guidance on the main part of this site, on how to improve your credit rating?0
