Qantas Multi City flight for September price shot up by £3k!!

I've been looking at booking a qantas multi-city flight in Sept 2010 to:
Heathrow > Tokyo
Tokyo > Sydney
Sydney > Auckland
Auckland > Singapore (via Sydney)
Make my own way to Singpaore to Bangkok (trip break - arrange my own flight)
Bangkok > London Heathrow
The price for many weeks was around £1,200 however in the past few days this has shot up to around £4,000 - when I try other dates and months the price is stilll around £4,000...(again, when I first began looking at this multicity route the price would be lower for previous months I looked at?)
Will the price drop down again to £1,200? I know prices go up and down all the time but this is a bit OTT

Have you tried to get a quote through a travel agent? They will have a better idea of what's going on. Try flightcentre or something similar.0

Try clearing the cookies on your computer then try again-sometimes they shoot the price up if you search more than once.0
