How much does that usage work out at in cost then? That DD right can't be right, unless they are expecting you to pay £350 for only a couple of months.. surely? How much arrears do you have?
Have you checked your tariff recently? Are there better tariffs or suppliers for you?Indecision is the key to flexibility0 -
Sohow much of your £350pm DD is going towards paying off your debt, and how much is current consumption?
Your gas usage is not unduly high (the conversion is correct) but your electricity usage is over 50% higher than what might be expected for a house with Gas CH and hot water.
Have you got a back up immersion heater left on maybe? Or are you on an old Economy 7 tariff that is not longer suitable now you have gas CH?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
DD wasnt specifically paying off arrears its just they have recalculated and changed my monthly payment i assume to clear my bill in next quater i assume, will ring tomorrow now ive calculated my usage over 12 mths, just couldnt understand why arrears increased if i was paying an average amount..
Elec is high as washer and dryer is on pretty much everyday with young kids, chuck in dishwasher couple of pc's it was more the shock of the price hike and just wanted to see if my usage is way over the top...0 -
just sent an email requesting what tarrif/package am i on cant see it on bill, but according to most websites my annual bill should be around £1200 based on my yearly usage so as i was paying £103 mth cant see why my arrears increased lol...0

Sorry, but your DD of £350 is vastly higher than what is necessary to cover your usage-that would mean £4,200 a year! Very approximately your usage should result in a bill of about £700 for gas and £700 for electricity (£1400pa). That means a DD of £117 per month.
So your DD indicates that you are paying around £233 pm for the arrears alone.
This is assuming your usage has not gone up.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Well, got through today, monthly bill immediately dropped to £195 mth. they took in to account my arrears and average usage over winter mths and project my next quarter use hence the high rates...
so should be payed up relatively quickly, she suggested i review it again in 3 mths to see how much i owe and should be able to drop it down again.
I did notice though my electric usage has recently shot through the roof, used about 2000 kwh's in last 6 wks . just ordered my free meter from npower and going to have a little play to see whats what... no more tumble dryer!!!0 -
2,000 kWh's is what you should be using in 6 months! You need to identify where it is going. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
