Choicesuk.com

Anyone know when choicesuk.com were taken over ?

My reason for asking is that I have a faulty PS3 and they have refused to replace it as they say they are under new ownership, the only info I can find is that they were taken over late 2007 ?

I bought the PS3 in May 2008

Consumer Direct have suggested I find out whether I am being told the truth.

It might be quicker to go directly to Sony. There are quite a few threads about faulty PS3's on here and I'd suggest you have a read to see what others have done before you ring them. When our PS3 broke, I rang Sony and they sent someone to collect the broken one and replaced it with a reconditioned one. This was about 2 years ago - I don't know if they still do this now.

    Thanks for the replies.

I have contacted Sony but they are not interest as it is outside the 1yrs warranty (I have had the PS3 just under 2yrs).

How did you pay for the PS3? If you paid using any form of credit (including credit card), the company supplying the credit is jointly liable for the contract, so any claim can be made against them.

Doesn't matter if the card was cancelled, they are still liable for the contract.

You need to make sure that you tell them you are making the claim under Section 75 of The Consumer Credit Act when calling, as they will otherwise try to fob you off.

Suddenly it seems like choicesuk.com want to talk, hopefully they will follow SOGA and pay the repair cost to my PS3.

Thanks to the people that posted advice.

I will post when there is more updates.
