Hi, our flights via virgin from orlando/gat have been canceled.
My son who is with us has a united airways flight booked for 5 hrs from now. The flight is from orlando to dublin via Philadelpha .It is showing as scheduled to leave
as planned 5pm usa time. But my understanding is Dublin aiport is closed.
We are 2 1/2 hours from orlando, I dont want to drive all the way there to find
it canceled.
My question is, is Dublin Airport taking international flights. His flight is due to land in dublin tomorrow at 0850.
I don't want him to be flown to Philadelphia and be stranded there on his own.
I tried to speak to relevant airline etc and unable to get any response.
Have about 1/2 hour to play with
Urgent thoughts please

just found this site which claims to show what planes are actually in the air...if that helps?

Hi FH, my son is 20, so a grown man (mind his behaviour sometimes belies that)
My son joined us on arrival in usa, from australia (a belated decision). We booked his
return flight to uk via dublin with us airlines.
Got about 40 miles into our journey to orlando airport and my younger son contacted me to say that my second leg of his flight (philidelphia to Dublin) has been canceled.
We have returned to our villa and the first leg of his flight from Orlando to Philly is
still scheduled to go. Obviously, it would have been no good sending my son to
Philly and be stranded there.
Will my son be eligible for a replacement ticket being as the main leg of his journey is
now cancelled?
Literally, unable to get hold of a human at US Airlines.
Would it make sense to check in on line for the flight, although he will not be taking it.0 -
I've managed to sort it out now. Have booked him on a flight on the 2nd May Orl/dublin.
I asked if they could get him a flight for Gatwick but that would have been an additional
1900$.
Thanks for peoples thought0
