HSBC Credit Card Charges... Unusual response??

I've been taking Martin's advice on claiming my charges back on my credit card and sent off the first letter with my £10 to get a copy of my charges over the last six years as advised. Within a week the HSBC has come back to me with a straight out offer of around £150... but this is for charges that only go back to February 2010...!!

Do I just accept this, or do I pursue them ever further as they haven't sent me the statements I asked for... plus I have charges going a lot further back that February this year?

Any advice would be most welcome.

Kind Regards
Staffylad

Wait for the info, put yousrelf in thier shoes would you offer money unless you felt you were going to benefit in some way from the offer being accepted. I could be wrong, but I'd be willing to bet the charges and interest come to more than this and IMO it is a bit of sharp practice to expect a customer to accept an offer without having the info.

I could be wrong and they might be squeeky clean :p

I would write back to them and state that you have requested the statements and for them to provide them since an offer of charges back is not compliance with the Data Protection Act.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
