How long should I wait?

I've just purchased what was meant to be a brand new unopened tent on eBay - it arrived but with no tent poles! I am hoping it is a mistake (the seller is a power seller with 99.9% feedback on over 850) and have contacted him to ask him to send the poles on or arrange collection and a full refund.

But I'm wondering how long is reasonable to give him to respond before taking it further? A few days? A week?

I am really disappointed - have been using eBay for years and this is the first problem I have had. Guess my luck has just run out...

A few days would be reasonable... but remember it's holiday season :(

I agree, give the seller a few days to respond. If they don't respond then perhaps get the sellers contact details from eBay and call them. It may be a genuine mistake, I mean who sells a brand new tent without any tent poles!

Just had an email - he's offered a refund if I send it back. Sounds like a genuine mistake - he says he got them as a job lot and hadn't unpacked them. Sounds like he was had :( Anyway - he has already left +ve feedback on this and seems genuine so hopefully I'll get my money back - shame though - I really wanted the tent!

    Faith in eBay almost restored.
