Stamp Duty

I would not worry. If the solicitor says okay (in writing) should be a £1000 saving! This is a new exemption so no one is going to be absolutely certain. I would suggest delaying adding your name for a while for stamp duty purposes.
Re two people on mortgages often done just called guarentors rather than joint mortagagees but basic same legal liabilities. You would have to get mortgage co to agree to title deed changes I would have thought so might be an extra cost here as well when you do it.
Finally as girlfiend rather than wife. If putting monies down what happens if you fall out before your name is on deeds? (if 90% mortgage not an issue but if putting alot of money down make sure solicitor is happy with your rights re this (could treat your monies as loan to her if so needs some simple documentation)0 -
Thanks to everyone for their advice and opinions, much appreciated. Will update with what happens!!0
