Bow window or bay window - any major price differences?

We're contemplating having a bow or bay window put on our living room window.
We haven't had any quotes yet (lining a few up) but was just wondering if anyone can tell me whether we should expect any massive differences between bay or bow window prices? I can't really see there being a huge difference but we're not sure.
We would like more floor space (as we're looking to re-carpet anyway) so would rather have one that means we get more floor space rather than a window seat type one.
Its quite a large window - measures 1.97m wide by 1.78m high (including the two small opening windows at the top). The little wall at the bottom (adjoining the floor) measures 0.33m. Does anyone have any price estimates for us - white UPVC double glazed. Not fussed about anything fancy - just bog standard glass - either bow or bay shaped.

Bow window would be the cheapest way. If youre wanting a upvc canopy that would be more expensive than just a flat ' lead flashed one. Estimate anything from £800 to £1300
A bay price would need all the brickwork and plastering to be included. I would have thought you'd be looking towards £1500/£1750 for a complete job. Would it look right too compared to the rest of the house looking from outside ?0 -
Thanks for those figures - they don't sound too extortionate.
The chap is coming out tonight to give us a quote for that plus maybe also replacing our other windows too (as they're slowly starting to go, one by one) The time has come!
Out of interest, how long should new double glazing windows actually last for before they start to head downhill and get misted, foggy, etc? (The lady we bought the house from claimed these windows had all been put in 7 years ago) - we've only lived here for 2 years, does that sound right? (We know she fibbed about a lot of things to try and flog her house to us so wouldn't be surprised if the windows were one of the things she fibbed about - but does 9 ish years sound about right for the lifespan of windows?)0 -
As an update on this one for anyone else who may be looking into getting a bay window - this is what we're getting done:
(With white UPVC, 9 locking points, chrome handles, argon filled units, top of the range stuff (apparently))
1 x bay window with aforementioned dimensions, only sticking out of the house by 1m so it'll be a good chunk of extra living room space too - with two opening windows and a flat roof.
2 x windows of 1.97m widths and 1.38m heights (each with two opening top windows and chrome handles - with plastic sills).
1 x 1m x 1.2m frosted bathroom window, also with a top opener with chrome handle.
We're paying £3500 for this - but over finance with no deposit required (which was the beauty of it all as we just don't have the cash to pay anything off in a lump sum sadly). APR is 9.9% so its not too bad.0
