Building Regulations

Hi All,

I'm thinking of converting part of my garage to a cloakroom. I would include a toilet and a sink in there.

Does anyone know if I need building regulations to do this

Thanks

I doubt you will need planning permission if its inside and your not extending however i'm sure someone qualified will come along shortly and tell you for sure

Your build will be governed by building regs. Choosing to tell them what you are doing is up to you!
Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!

You will almost definately need B Regs approval for a new connection to drains. But you might not need to comply with all the Regs for current new construction if you can claim that fitting a WC room is not creating any new habitable space.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.
  • You would only need planning permission if there was a restrictive condition on any previous planning permission for the garage, restricting the use of it for parking cars only, and preventing any conversion to habitable accommodation.

This is not advice. Simply what I would do.

I would simply do it absolutely correctly, but not bother to tell them. :A
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
