Just had my car insurance renewal notice and my insurance for this year has gone up from £410 to £949.42!!! Needless to say I wont be renewing with them especially as ive been on a comparison site and can get fully comp cover for 1/3 of the price!!!
And before anyone asks no ive not had any accidents or convictions and have full no claims discount!!!
Has anyone elses insurance gone up so much?
And i dont drive a flash car either!!! Unlucky for me its only a galaxy lol x

Don't forget Quidco!!
Just a thought, might be worth giving them a ring and asking why it has gone up by so much. I hope they haven't added an accident or speeding fine to your account by mistake?0 -
At the point of taking it out last time they could have had an offer on.... discount, or whatever....
Have you changed jobs and told them? That would also change the price....
Basically I would advise shopping around and just take a cheaper deal...
I do this ever year and always find something cheaper than my renewal quote...0 -
Funnily enough I have to change every year because I always find they try it on with the second year renewal whichever insurer it is.
This year strangely the insurer came up with a renewal that whilst a bit higher than last year was still by far the best price compared to the comparison site runs. Even better that its own price when run with 'dummy' info fed into their website..weird.0 -
Double check all the parameters, I've just got my renewal offer and it says the car is parked a drive overnight which is not correct.0

my car insurance last year was 500 odd and they have offered me a quote this year that is aparantley a better price and much more competitive - at over £1,000 :rotfl: i think it's a bit of a joke, just shop around!0

I had the same in January, Direct line last year £305.
New quote £480. Just before renewal i changed my car to an estate version, Same year & spec / price etc. Now quoting £530.
Mondeo owners club have an insurance company that try and better your current quotes as they actually talk to you & access your risk.
See if your car has an owners club & see who they use.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Even though I have stayed with the same insurer for sometime now due to 2nd car discount and home insurance discount, every year the paper quote is considerably higher than when I bang the details in online. I get them to check it and sure enough get the lower price:T
What's happening there then I don't know, but I can guess
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
all insurance company's have this stupid model of offering you a competitive quote the first year and then trying to rip you off the following years, there probably hoping that the stupid / lazy people do not notice.
customer loyalty is meaningless to them ...
just get used to the fact that every year you will have to shop around :j0 -
try and make sense of this one
aviva last year qouted £285 fully comp
renewal for same car same occupation no points no accidents all details checked double checked
renewal this year £1098 fully comp
needless to say i did'nt renew0 -
