Garage courtesy car. I pay for petrol?
I have to take my car into my dealer to get something fixed. I will drop it off in the morning and pick up late afternoon. Should the car be filled up when I pick it up and then I fill it back up? Do I not worry about filling it up? Or will they just give me a car with barely anything in the tank (I'm guessing this is the more likely option)?

You will be expected to return the car with the same amount of petrol as it had when you received it. The garage will probably not top it up.0

In my experience they try really hard to make it impossible for you to get to the nearest garage before it runs out of fuel! Not great when you are dashing off to a meeting after waiting 20 mins for a pre-arranged car to turn up!! GRRRRR0

Last courtesy car they wanted me to arrange my own insurance (couldn't be bothered with the hassle). Won't be rushing back as it's a 45 mile round trip and this car is not in warranty now.0

Last one I had I paid for the insurance (could have done my own but to much hassel) and had half a tank - was asked to bring it back with the same. - much easier than finding it empty!0

I think its more the previous customer leaves you with an empty fuel tank as opposed to the garage doing it.0

Most courtesy cars are used by the staff as company cars at the garages I have used I suppose they don't like filling up for customers to use.0
