Cheapest sodium chlorate substitute - anyone know?
Made my annual visit to Poundland the other day to pick up a tub of their very cheap sodium chlorate only to be told it's now banned. I wouldn't have been so lavish at the weekend with the tub from last year if I'd known!
Seems like glyphosate is what is being pushed as substitute but it works out a lot dearer.
Is there another (cheaper) product available? It's not for areas which i plant up and I have no children or pets to consider.
If not, where shall I find cheapest glyphosate?
Thanks.

If you want a long term weedkiller then something like Pathclear is probably worth considering - otherwise I'd look in Wilkinsons for unbranded Glyphosate (as opposed to Roundup etc which is the same stuff but more expensive because of the branding!)Adventure before Dementia!0

Your ok to use up remaining supplies of the SC. So don't worry about getting in trouble for it. Not sure about substitutes0

Wonder if thats they stuff i have in a box crystal like, well it is now it may have been a powder when i bought it serveral years ago.
I mix it with water in a small spray bottle & use it directly on weeds, works a treat.
Only yesterday i was thinking i need more of that.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

I've finished it (that's why I said I wouldn't have been so lavish).
When I came back from Poundland, I did a search on the web to see what more info there was and I seem to recall finding something which said it can only be used up to some date in May 2010 as opposed to being banned from sale in 2009.0 -
Is there any long lasting weed killers?
Got a gravel patch & want it to stay bare, Last year i mixed weedkiller, bleach, salt it killed everything.
Now its starting to come back.
Putting a barrier cloth or similar is not possible at present, Maybe an option later on?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
