poor shower - anything I can do?

Just moved into a flat - top floor in London.
The taps around the place seem to have quite reasonable water pressure.
The shower, while isn't terrible, isnt the best.
It's one of those things where the bathtub tap is connected, you pull it up and then it goes to the shower. The pressure through that tap doesn't seem amazing.
Obviously, I'm just a tenant on a short lease, so I can't really 'change' anything; would a new shower head help at all? Maybe give the illusion of a better shower?
Any recommendations?
Thanks!

Have you tried removing the head and cleaning it? Always worth a shot.0

I don't think that the "illusion" of a better shower is what you meant. What you want is actually a better shower. But anyway,as latecomer says, unscrew the shower head and check the state of the holes. They are prone to "furring up" if you have hard water.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
