Its more an anti-abbey stance I,ve got,quickly.....
1.They took over Nat+Pro bs and introduced £1 cash machine charges
2.They caused me hassle over an insurance claim
3.They stole £200 of me when i sold my flat and had to get lawyer to them
(at this point I closed every account and went to Brad + Bing bs)
4.They refused to accept my dads death certificate because it was in Spanish and wanted £250 to translate it.
(at this point everyone in family closes accounts taking a good 10k with them)
5.They buy over Brad+Bing and all my accounts !
6.Whilst transferring all accounts to Yorkshire bs and Scottish bs,abbey try and transfer back direct debits.

Love to hate them but I do believe that if you dont support your local Building Society then it wont be there for your kids

I have heard some very bad stories about them, to be fair yours is one of the true horror stories.:eek:

Apart from the ex N+P mortgage for 12 months I,ve never owed abbey/santander money.If thats how they treat those with cash in the bank,God help those in debt to them.

my elderly aunt and i opened a joint account with Abbey .three months later they froze the account under anti terrorist laws .the only money paid into the account was
state pension and winter heating allowance .
