Tax Credits entitlement ?

Hi

I am looking for advice as trying to sort out finances.

My husband claims Tax Credits as he is registered self employed yet I am sure he is no longer eligable for them as he doenst work enough hours.

I am worried though because its a much needed income, one which keeps the priority debts paid.

What do I do? If they do stop the Tax Credits what is the alternative?

I am on long term Incapacity Benefit due to a degenerative condition and although I would like to work / volunteer I am currently still unable to.

We are also considering Debt Releif Orders to help clear our debts. Mine is ok yet NDL say my husband needs to go through Business Debtline as he is self employed, that I understand but he doesnt make enough income to be classed as a viable business anymore in my opinion so cant he just apply for a 'normal' DRO saying the little he does earn is from friends he does odd jobs for? Which in some cases it actualy is. This he then pays out to keep his van taxed / insured / fuel and a few other regular things. We only have 1 vehicle (his 2 seater van).

I just feel until he has sorted his own debts out I cannot apply for my DRO incase we lose the Working Tax Credits or they get replaced with another benefit.

Can anyone help advise please ? I just want to get a DRO rolling as its predicted to take 6 - 8 weeks before they even look at it due to the backlogue

Tried to look for the Job Centre or its website for advice but it has moved and I cant find it online

Can anyone help me with anything?
