Delegating on the day - the fun part

Hi peeps,

I am starting to compose a list of things to give people to do on the big day. Do you girlies have any ideas? This is what I have so far, and maybe we can create a general list for everyone as the fiddly bits I think are the hardest!!!

Here goes and in no particular order:

* Give money to Piper
* Dress Patrol (checking it is looking perfect :D)
* Check reception set up is correct
* herd people onto our vintage bus (2 pick up locations)
* seating at the ceremony

this is prob really obvious to everyone, but I am really struggling!! I just want all the little things dealt with. What else are people delegating?!?!

Thank you xxxx

    * Give money to Piper one of Best man's duties
    * Dress Patrol (checking it is looking perfect :D) one of Chief Bridesmaid's duties
    * Check reception set up is correct
    * herd people onto our vintage bus (2 pick up locations)Ushers' responsibility
    * seating at the ceremony Ushers' responsibility

I think that's it covered - maybe your mum or OH's mum or a sister could check the reception set-up?
  • Ha ha, i know this is silly, but my brother is on dress patrol :D

Unconventional but he is my best friend in the whole world and trust him more than anyone.

Is there really nothing else to delegate? I thought there would be loads ha ha. Thanks for saying who the jobs need to go to, that really helps xxx

Arrghhh just thought of another one and now its gone - grrrr x

Well, there are other things like rounding up the correct people for photos (but your photographer may have an assistant to do that); acting as MC if you don't have one; holding your flowers during the service (chief bridesmaid).

    Flowers? (if you're having them)
Ensuring the cake has been delivered!
  • Look after rings.
Make sure everyone is inside church or RO before you arrive
Round people up for photos, speeches, cake cutting and first dance.
Get everyone dancing on 2nd or 3rd Dance
    Look after cards/gifts
    Have umbrellas on standby.
    Bump due 22nd September

I'd struggle with that - she died in 2005!! And OH's mum is a bit unsteady on her feet due to illness so don't want to put that responsibility onto her. My best woman will be checking that & the cake's safe arrival with the wedding planner, as well as looking after OH's ring, holding my flowers, checking my frock, checking my make-up & hair etc.

    ohh what a good thread!

My jobs to be distributed amoung various people on the day are -

take any flowers if we have them in the church to the venue
maps to be given to guests to venue from church
best men to round up people for photos
someone to check the venue is set up properly & candles are lit
as above for when we move into the evening room
make sure that everyone has signed the photo-frame
make sure that the dj knows our 1st dance, fathers dance and requested songs.
